Background

Izumi was born to an Uchiha mother and a civilian ninja father. Before she was five, she carried her father’s surname; after he died protecting her during the Nine-Tails’ Rampage, her mother brought her into the Uchiha Clan and she took the Uchiha name. Her mixed background left her isolated from other children in the clan. 1

She awakened a Three-Tomoe Sharingan on the night her father died, an exceptional awakening that her limited chakra reserves initially made difficult to use. 15 19

At age twelve, shortly after graduating from the Ninja Academy, Izumi entered the Konoha Military Police Force recruitment assessment. She selected Uchiha Chisen as her examiner simply because his name resembled hers, despite Fugaku’s warning that Chisen’s assessment could be dangerous. 1 2

Personality

Izumi begins as earnest, nervous, and deeply inexperienced with violence. Her early investigations leave her sickened by corpses and conflicted even when dealing with murderers, but she is determined to become a capable law enforcer. 3 4 7

Chisen’s instruction steadily transforms her fear into conviction. She comes to believe that justice must protect innocents even when confronting powerful opponents, and she increasingly acts without hesitation against those she recognizes as evil. 39 59 102
