Information From Your Account

You can read parts of the Site without an account. If you sign in, you do so with Patreon, and we receive and store:

• your Patreon user ID, name, email address and profile picture;
• your Patreon membership status and tier, which decide the features and limits on your account; and
• sign-in tokens from Patreon, which let us keep your membership status up to date; and
• the account and membership information Patreon returns, which we refresh regularly while your Patreon sign-in remains valid.

When you first sign in, we generate a public username, which you can change, and a placeholder profile picture, which is created by DiceBear. You may upload your own public profile picture instead. We do not receive or store your payment details; payments are handled entirely by Patreon.

How you found us. When your account is created, we store with it the tag on the link that brought you to the Site, if it had one (for example, a link from DaoSearch), the page and the button where you pressed Sign in, and your answer to our one-time "How did you find us?" question, if you choose to give one.

Information From Using the Site

When you are signed in, we store what you do on the Site so that your features work:

• your library, bookmarks, reading status and reading progress;
• which chapters you open each day, used for your reading activity and streaks;
• your ratings, reviews, replies and comments, when you wrote or edited them, and your votes on other posts;
• glossary and wiki suggestions, instructions you type into the glossary tools, and custom glossary translations;
• novels you search for, request or add to the Site;
• reports you submit;
• your notifications and notification settings; and
• your level and experience points.

IP addresses. We use your IP address to limit excessive requests to the Site and to avoid counting repeat visits to a novel more than once. For rate limiting, it is held for about a minute. For view counting, it is held for 30 minutes. When you download chapters for offline reading, the IP addresses you download from are held for about a day, as described below. We do not otherwise keep request logs of IP addresses, and we do not collect device details such as your device type, operating system or browser version, or hardware identifiers.

Watching for automated copying. For each signed-in account, we keep a list of the chapters it fetches and, for offline downloads, the IP addresses it downloads from. Each list covers one day and is deleted about a day later. We use it only to spot accounts that fetch chapters faster than a person reads, and it never limits your reading.

Usage counts. We count some actions on the Site ourselves, for example opening a chapter past chapter 50 or pressing a membership link, whether or not you are signed in. Each count is a daily total for the whole Site, split only by the kind of action, by membership tier (signed out, free or a paid tier) and, for some reading actions, by novel and chapter range. No user ID, IP address or device detail is stored with it, and no third-party analytics service receives it.

What Is Public

Your public username, avatar, level and join date are public. Reading activity, community history and leaderboard participation are public by default for everyone. You can turn them off in your profile settings. Hiding reading activity hides your saved chapter progress, reading history, heatmap, streaks, detailed reading totals and reading awards from other visitors, removes your reading activity from the community General feed, and excludes you from reader rankings.

Community history includes the reports you submit: your profile lists each report's novel, type, current and suggested value, and status. Hiding community history removes its collected reviews, comments, edits, reports, uploads and engagement from your profile. Reviews, ratings, replies, comments, accepted contributions and uploads remain public where published, including the community feed. Turning off leaderboard participation removes you from all user rankings. You can still see your own hidden sections. Your Patreon name and email, membership details, individual votes, notes you add to reports, moderation feedback and notifications remain private. Privacy changes cannot remove copies someone has already saved.

How We Use Your Information

• To sign you in and apply the features and limits of your membership.
• To provide your library, reading progress, reading activity and notifications.
• To display your public posts and public profile.
• To review reports and moderate content and accounts.
• To screen reviews, replies and comments for abuse when they are posted or edited.
• To protect the Site against abuse, including rate limiting and spotting automated copying of chapters.
• To reply when you contact us.

We do not sell your data, build advertising profiles, or show advertising.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies. A session cookie keeps you signed in; it lasts up to 30 days and is renewed while you use the Site. Other cookies remember small interface choices, such as how many items to show per page. We do not use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites.

We also use your browser's local storage to keep reading preferences on your own device, such as your reading font and settings, and which chapters, novels and wikis you have recently viewed.

Our analytics do not use cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports aggregate page views and performance without setting cookies, fingerprinting your device, or following you across sites. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising network.

Two optional features store more in your browser's site storage (IndexedDB and Cache Storage), only when you use them. Offline downloads keep up to 100 chapters of each novel you download. The AI Device voice keeps its voice model, about 350 MB, so it does not download again. Both stay on your device, and you can remove them from the Downloads page, the voice settings, or your browser.

You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser. If you do, you will be signed out, your on-device preferences will reset, and saved downloads and voice files will be removed.

Third-Party Services

A few third parties are needed to run the Site. When your browser contacts one of them directly, it receives your IP address and basic request information.

• Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, image storage, security and our cookieless analytics. Cloudflare may set security cookies to tell real visitors from automated traffic.
• Patreon handles sign-in and memberships. When you sign in you are redirected to Patreon, and Patreon's privacy policy applies to that step.
• Discord is where our community and moderators follow activity. When you rate or review a novel, submit a report or a glossary or wiki suggestion, or add a novel, the relevant details, such as your rating, review text or report, are posted to channels on our Discord server together with your public username.
• Serper, a web search service, receives the novel titles you search for when requesting a novel, so we can find matching source websites.
• Google Translate is used by some reading options to translate a chapter directly in your browser. When you use them, your browser sends that chapter's text to Google, and Google's privacy policy applies.
• KLIPY supplies the GIF picker and serves GIFs posted in comments and reviews.
• Google Fonts and CDNFonts serve optional reading fonts, requested only if you choose one of those fonts in the chapter reader.
• OpenAI receives the text of each review, reply and comment when you post or edit it, to check it for abuse such as threats, slurs or hate before it is published. It receives the text only, not your username or account details.
• jsDelivr and Hugging Face serve the code and voice model for the AI Device read-aloud voice. Your browser contacts them only when you download that voice.

Novels, glossaries and wiki pages are produced using AI and machine translation services. They receive novel text, novel titles you search for, and any instructions you type into the glossary tools. Apart from the abuse check above, they never receive your account details, reviews, comments or other posts.

Children's Information

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data in your country, to use the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Information Security

We use technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, use or disclosure. No service can guarantee complete security.

Access, Correction and Deletion

You can change your public username and public profile picture yourself from your profile page. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, contact us at randomtranslator2@gmail.com or on our Discord. There is currently no self-serve deletion option on the Site. Deleting your account removes your profile and the data linked to it: your library, reading progress and reading activity, ratings, reviews, replies, comments, votes, notifications and level. Novels you added stay on the Site. Records of accepted glossary edits and of reports stay as well, no longer linked to your account, although they may still show the public username you had when you made them.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Data you ask us to delete is removed from the Site.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continuing to use the Site means you accept them.
