A Word About Upcoming Updates and the New Book

Let me tell everyone that updates for this book might be irregular from here on out. Sometimes there may be no update, sometimes one update, but it will definitely be finished. I won't leave it unfinished. As for the reason, I've already started publishing a new book.

I didn't continue writing wuxia, but switched genres instead—to anime-style fiction, mainly youth romance and literary-copying stories. I'm planning to write something lighter.

Let me talk about why I had this idea and made this decision.

The new book had actually been in preparation for a long time. Back in May 2020, I already had the first idea and wrote an outline. Then some things happened—everyone knows about them—and nothing came of it afterward.

In July, I came up with another opening and wrote around forty thousand characters. Looking it over myself, it felt really exciting, but it probably wouldn't be accepted by the market, so I scrapped it too.

Then in December, I had another concept. I planned to write a pure martial-arts progression story, combining eerie horrors, ferocious beasts, and natural disasters.

None of those elements were fresh anymore, but they could still be written.

After that, I sent the outline and twenty thousand characters of the main text to Editor-in-Chief Shuǐ Mò. After reading it, Shuǐ Mò gave me his evaluation: all sorts of background settings were very solid, and the martial-arts progression was good too, but the main text dragged too much and couldn't quickly catch readers' eyes.

Signing a contract definitely wouldn't have been a problem, but whether it could achieve good results was impossible to guarantee.

Afterward, I made revisions according to Editor-in-Chief Shuǐ Mò's guidance.
