Simmons and Fitz had already finished making the vaccine. Fitz said, "Can I do it? I believe I've got good luck."
Simmons nodded. Fitz loaded the vaccine into the injection gun, then went over to the mouse cage nearby. Inside were three white mice.
Fitz picked up one of them, and with an electrical pulse, injected the vaccine into the mouse's body.
Everyone's eyes fixed on the white mouse. Seeing no change at all and no static discharge, they immediately said happily, "We did it."
But in the next second, a static pulse appeared, and the little mouse floated up.
The smile on Simmons's face vanished, and she murmured, "It failed..."
