As Coulson felt his own subconscious, he said, "The beach, the blue waves—exactly the same as in my memory."
Raina prompted from beside him, "Observe the details carefully."
In his memory, the masseuse was massaging Coulson's neck. "Do you feel it?"
Coulson's face was full of enjoyment. He closed his eyes and said, "Don't stop."
Just then, a man came over with drinks and fruit, smiling as he walked.
At that moment, the waiter suddenly turned into a doctor, who said sternly, "Listen to him. Who ordered this?"
Coulson looked at the masseuse beside him in confusion. "What?"
She said to the doctor, "Director Fury gave the order himself."
Raina looked at Coulson lying on the device and said, "Agent Coulson, you remembered something, didn't you?"
"Observe your surroundings. Describe what you see."
Coulson found that the sun by the sea had turned into a surgical lamp, and the technician massaging him had become a female doctor. The surroundings also began to distort, slowly changing from the seaside into an operating room.
Raina continued reminding him, "Are you still on Tahiti?"
"Tell me."
Coulson noticed the change in the environment, but still lied, "Pitch-black. There's nothing. I can't see anything."
For a moment, Raina couldn't tell whether what Coulson said was true or false—whether the device had yet to take effect, or whether Coulson was deceiving her.
