The Mu Family is one of the Mite'er, Nalan, and Mu families collectively known as the Three Giants of Jia Ma. The three families are described as having influence throughout the empire's commercial, military, and other sectors. The family possesses at least one Dou King, and its heir apparent Mu Zhan is regarded as a leading talent of the imperial capital's younger generation. Conflict with Mo Yu

Mu Zhan persistently pursued Ya Fei, prompting her to ask Mo Yu for help. Ya Fei believed the Mu Family would not intervene in a dispute between younger members, provided Mu Zhan was merely taught a lesson 179.

At a Nalan Family gathering, Mu Zhan attacked Mo Yu after seeing him close to Ya Fei. Mo Yu defeated him in a single exchange and later compelled him to apologize and promise not to trouble Ya Fei again 180 181. Mu Zhan recognized that provoking Mo Yu could endanger both his position as heir and the Mu Family's interests 181.

The family's representatives later joined the imperial family, Alchemist Guild, Mite'er Family, and Nalan Family in offering condolences to the Mite'er Family after Mo Yu's return to the imperial capital 341. The Mu Family subsequently mobilized alongside those factions in support of Yuan Manor's campaign against the Misty Cloud Sect 344.

Lei Clan Mu Branch

A Mu Family is identified as one of the Lei Clan's four great vassal families, alongside the Mo, Mang, and Lin families. The Mu Branch is described as being evenly matched with the Mang Branch, flourishing, and possessing many strong members 532.

Mu Mang's status as the son of the Mu Family patriarch gives him exceptional standing within the Lei Clan. He serves as a deputy captain in the Black Demon Army and received a mid-tier Profound Grade Clan Mark during the Lei Clan's Coming-of-Age Ceremony 532 540.
