Found Them!

With Psyker Power sensing, Ron looked down over the six or seven residential districts surrounding Sacred Plaza.

The residential districts varied in size.

Closest to Sacred Plaza was the administrative staff housing district, mostly packed with apartment blocks separated by small activity areas.

Beyond that stood several massive communities dozens of stories high, each building like an independent little world.

To save space, the area was extremely dense.

Like stacked cargo containers, it was divided into cage-like single rooms without even windows.

On the outskirts lay sprawling shantytowns, where most homes were built from worn-out materials, some nothing more than crude tin shacks barely capable of offering shelter.

The shanty homes were tangled together in a cramped, dim layout, like a disorderly labyrinth.

Each of these residential districts possessed its own ecosystem, immensely complicated and filled with too many hidden gray areas.

Conducting a thorough investigation would have been extremely difficult.

Yet for Ron now, it was not impossible.

He now possessed authority akin to that of a god, and the range of his Psyker Power sensing could easily encompass every residential district that needed to be searched.

In this state, the Power of Hope was consumed rapidly.

But that alone was not enough. He needed clearer, more precise perception.

Ron gritted his teeth and increased the depth of his Psyker Power sensing once more, his psychic awareness completely enveloping those residential districts.

At such depth, his Psyker Power sensing even allowed him to clearly "see" tiny bedbugs nearly invisible to the naked eye within the residential districts.

It could be said that everything within the range of his Psyker Power sensing lay under his observation!

But this also meant that the amount of information he had to receive multiplied.

A colossal flood of information surged into Ron's mind in an instant, nearly bursting his brain apart!

Agonizing pain struck him. He let out a muffled groan and nearly lost his connection to the Psionic Core.

Yet Ron endured it and successfully obtained what he wanted.

He found the Heretics!

There were dozens of Heretics, hidden throughout the residential districts and disguised as ordinary residents.

He swiftly locked onto their exact locations and marked them down.

At the same time, Ron sensed a far more terrifying malice, enough to chill one's bones.

It was not something a living person could emit.

It was pure, wicked Chaos power!

That power was stored in more than a dozen glass bottles, each faintly radiating an azure glow.

Ron finally understood. This was the enemy's true method.

Though he still did not know what those things were for.

He had a premonition that if those things were allowed to leak, something horrific would happen!

To prevent any accidents, Ron carefully marked the glass bottles containing those evil objects.

The moment he finished marking them, his awareness began to withdraw, and that feeling of omniscience and omnipotence vanished!

Then his consciousness rebounded and slammed violently back into his body.

Ron's consciousness returned to his body. His face turned pale, and he could barely remain standing.

That was the consequence of overusing his power. Fifty thousand points of Power of Hope had been completely depleted.

Still, he was already accustomed to the feeling.

"Once Little Sun's energy recovers further, perhaps this won't happen anymore..."

Supporting his waist, Ron walked into the office and slumped onto the Governor's throne.

He was exhausted and badly wanted to rest, but he could not.

He had to quickly record the information he had just obtained.

After taking a deep breath, he picked up the Data-slate and began working, carefully marking one location after another on the three-dimensional map of the residential districts.

Not long after, Ron summoned Bayev inside.

"Governor, we are ready. We can carry out your orders at any time."

Bayev believed that the Palatine District had no other choice.

The Governor would surely resort to a full-scale purge.

But he was wrong.

Ron handed the Data-slate to Bayev and instructed him, "The map contains the precise locations of every Heretic. Fifteen of them are carrying terrifying Chaos biological weapons. We absolutely cannot give them the chance to release those damned things!"

Bayev flipped through the map data on the Data-slate.

It was so detailed and clear that even their movement patterns had been recorded!

He instinctively glanced at Ron. What a terrifying power.

That was simply not something a mortal could accomplish!

"Do you have any questions?"

Bayev hurriedly shook his head. "No. This map is more than enough."

No matter what power the Governor had used.

Whether it was the God-Emperor's power, mysterious Sorcery, or even a deal with Chaos.

It was not something he, as a servant, could pry into.

Unless his master chose to reveal the secret himself.

His family's education had engraved this iron rule deep into his instincts, and he did not dare overstep in the slightest.

It was a lesson written in blood.

The previous head steward's family had overstepped and pried into their master's secrets, so their entire clan had been sent into the Underhive.

If their bloodline still remained, they should now have been scavenging for food amid garbage heaps filled with pollutants.

It was precisely because the Cotton House Bayev belonged to excelled at learning lessons from history.

That they had been able to serve Grant House for nearly two thousand years without falling.

Ron was also pleased with a subordinate like Bayev, who understood boundaries, and continued explaining the important details on the map.

He instructed him, "The safety of those residential districts is in your hands. Keep casualties to a minimum!"

"Yes. I will contain the situation and ensure the people's safety!"

Bayev made his promise.

The Governor had already provided enough help.

With such detailed information, if he still could not solve the problem, then there would be no value in his existence as head steward.

Compared to the problems ahead, Bayev was more concerned about the Governor's physical condition.

After all, to the Palatine District, the Governor's noble bloodline was the highest priority.

He looked at Ron with concern.

The Governor looked even weaker than before. Could it be a backlash from some kind of power?

"Governor, I think you should rest. Leave the rest to me. I will handle it properly."

Bayev spoke with firm resolve.

The only thing he could do now was handle the matter properly and ease the Governor's burdens!

"Fine. Go do your work..."

Ron nodded and completely delegated the matter to Bayev.

He would leave everything that followed to this head steward. After all, Bayev had more experience in such matters.

Leave professional work to professionals. That had always been the principle he upheld.

As Governor, he only needed to decide who would do it.

Ron pressed the summons bell on his desk and called for Head Maid Linda.

He was reaching his limit and needed rest.

When Linda entered and saw the Governor's pale face, she became extremely anxious.

"Governor, you..."

Ron interrupted her. "I'm going to rest. If anything urgent happens, you must wake me immediately!"

With that, mental exhaustion overwhelmed him. He could no longer suppress his drowsiness, and his head tipped sideways as he fell into Linda's arms and sank into deep sleep.

Linda was nearly frightened out of her wits.

But when she saw that the Governor's vital-sign monitor showed nothing abnormal and that he truly was only asleep, she finally let out a breath of relief.

Linda called the maids and had them take the Governor to bed to rest.

While Ron slept deeply, Bayev hurried toward the Departmento Munitorum's war room.

This would be a long night!
