Background / History

Chen Fan initially lived in Varrela City under the status of a God Chosen. His status gave him unusual protection, allowing him to investigate disturbances that ordinary residents feared to approach. He became suspicious of the Church, its Goddess, and the civilization behind Varrela after discovering technological discrepancies and concealed knowledge. 10 14 21 35

With One's support, Chen Fan investigated Varrela's false god and the city's failing God Source. He resisted the Archbishop during the Ascension Ritual crisis, obtained a Plasma Emission Device, and later sought outside expertise when the God Source was found to be unstable. 70 90 110

After helping rebuild Varrela City's power grid and local network, Chen Fan was recognized by the Dangerous Technology Administration as a Formal Investigator. His work increasingly involved dangerous artificial intelligences, high-dimensional information, alien civilizations, and inter-universe conflicts. 153 154 166

Chen Fan's repeated Resonance experiences revealed that his brain could receive and endure high-dimensional information that would destroy an ordinary person's mind.
