Background / History

The clan claims descent from the era of the Sage of Six Paths, with its sealing arts likewise said to have originated in that period. Its scrolls and secret techniques were traditionally reserved for clan members. 8 111

Whirlpool Village was Konoha's ally, but Whirlpool Country ultimately fell. The surviving Uzumaki were reduced to fewer than one in a thousand of their original number; later, Liuyun found the village in ruins and learned that its remaining inhabitants had either died or fled. 8 96 269

Mito Uzumaki preserved the clan's techniques through Kushina. Before her death, she entrusted Liuyun and Kushina with her sealing notes, a sealed scroll of advanced secret arts, and the responsibility of passing the inheritance to future generations. 253

The inheritance later reached Nagato Uzumaki, one of the few remaining descendants. He accepted Mito's scroll from Liuyun and vowed that his future children would continue the Uzumaki surname. 502
