A great battle was also raging in the Void. Like walking a dog, the Future Self and Ice Venerable joined forces against their foe, yet the enemy was nowhere to be seen.

Kui Shi stood motionless to one side, watching the spectacle.

"Damn it! You cowardly rats, hiding your heads and showing your tails! If you have the guts, come out!" Ice Venerable shouted.

But it was useless. Chi Yu had launched these attacks with the sole purpose of delaying the Future Self and the others from going to the rescue.

Though the attacks were powerful, they did not seek to take the two men's lives. Kui Shi narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

Just then, a voice he knew extremely well rang out in his mind, awakening memories buried deep within his silent heart.

"Yang An, it has been a long time. Have you been well?"

Kui Shi froze. "You... it's you."

"Hehehe, your method of steadily carrying out Devouring is rather impressive. Keep it up."

The voice vanished without another word. Kui Shi swept his gaze around the area before looking toward the Future Self, who was resisting the attacks.

"He... he actually isn't... But then who is he?"

Chi Yu's earlier strike had awakened Kui Shi's memories once more. Yang An's figure reappeared, and now he had become a body fused from two into one.

Half was Yang An, and half was Kui Shi. Especially after Yang An learned that Kui Shi had devoured Qing Su, his body became incredibly chaotic and unstable. The two halves of his body seemed to be fighting each other before finally calming down after a long while.

After an unknown amount of time, Chi Yu's attacks receded, and the battle in the Void came to a halt.

The Future Self gritted his teeth.
