Five Finger Mountain.
Upon learning that Sun Wukong had been guided by Guanyin to protect him on his journey to Western Paradise for the scriptures, Xuanzang was no longer afraid.
After talking for a while, he began climbing Five Finger Mountain. At the summit, he removed the Buddhist Mantra, freeing the monkey.
"Master, be careful!"
Five Finger Mountain stood with all five fingers upright, towering into the clouds and extremely steep. Xuanzang was an ordinary man without any cultivation, and the climb was arduous and exhausting.
Several times, he nearly slipped and fell to his death. Yet fate had decreed that he would be the one to obtain the scriptures, and the greater tide secretly aided him. In the end, he reached the summit with his mortal body.
There, he saw a Buddhist Mantra hanging above, radiating waves of Buddha light. As a great monk of Great Tang, Xuanzang naturally understood it at a glance.
Without hesitation, he formed a Buddhist hand seal and recited the mantra above.
A moment later, as though it possessed awareness, the Buddhist Mantra actually detached itself from Five Finger Mountain and drifted into the sky.
Four or five Buddhas could vaguely be seen in the air. The Buddhist Mantra landed in the hand of one of them. The Buddhas nodded, then swiftly vanished.
"Master, come down quickly! Old Sun is coming out!"
Sun Wukong's voice rang out from below. Xuanzang hurriedly turned around and slid down the mountain. At this moment, he was not afraid in the slightest, only filled with excitement.
Going down was much faster than climbing up. Xuanzang reached the foot of the mountain at incredible speed; anyone unaware of the truth might have thought he was some Immortal or god.
