Inviting Bih Lan Po, Golden Needle Subdues Demons

Bih Lan Dojo was wreathed in clouds and mist, tranquil and still.

Sun Wukong had gone to the Heavenly Court to seek aid and happened to meet Mao Ri Xing Guan. The two exchanged a few words.

From Mao Ri Xing Guan, he learned that his mother, Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva, possessed a treasure capable of subduing demons and evil, so he came here.

There were no disciple Sand Monks within, nor was there a solemn Buddhist hall with majestic sacred images. There was only a cave residence nestled in a mountain hollow, bearing the words "Bih Lan."

Inside the cave residence, an old woman in a flowered robe sat cross-legged with her eyes closed, immersed in meditation.

Sun Wukong quickly discovered this cave residence upon reaching Bih Lan Dojo and darted inside.

"Bodhisattva, Sun Wukong pays his respects!" Seeing Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva seated cross-legged with her eyes closed upon the stone seat, Sun Wukong respectfully bowed.

Hearing him, Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva opened her eyes.

Her gaze was sharp, murderous, and brilliantly alert.

"Oh? How did you know This Seat was here?" Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva was puzzled, for few gods or Buddhas knew where she resided.

"Mao Ri Xing Guan of the Heavenly Court directed me here," Sun Wukong replied.

Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva nodded. "Since my son sent you, what is the matter?"

"I beg the Bodhisattva to slay a demon and save my master." Sun Wukong clasped his hands and bowed.

"Your master?" Bih Lan Po Bodhisattva frowned.

"My master is the envoy traveling west to obtain scriptures, the eminent monk Tang Xuanzang of the Great Tang."
