Thinking a heavenly god had descended, the prefect hurriedly knelt and kowtowed to Sun Wukong.
Xuanzang stepped forward to help him up and explained the situation. Only then did the prefect learn that he was the disciple of an eminent monk.
Remembering something, he knelt again. "Please, eminent monk, pray for rain for the people of Fengxian."
Such divine powers would surely bring down sweet rain. The Fengxian County prefect looked immensely excited.
Xuanzang smiled bitterly. "Please rise at once!" He helped the prefect up and turned his gaze toward Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong stared hard at the prefect for a long while before snorting. "Tell me, have you ever done anything that enraged Heaven and stirred the resentment of the people?"
"Something that enraged Heaven and stirred resentment? I have truly been wronged! This old man has been an incorruptible official and kept the people in his heart. You may ask around the city."
"Then have you ever done anything to offend the Heavenly Court?"
"This..." The prefect pondered, then shook his head.
"Hmph. Since you have done neither anything that enraged Heaven and stirred resentment nor anything that offended the Heavenly Court, why did the Heavenly Court set up Noodle Mountain Rice Mountain and the ordeal of the burning rope?"
The prefect stood there in a daze, utterly confused.
"Hmph. Think carefully. Search your memories properly."
"Zhu Bajie, come with me to the Heavenly Court." Sun Wukong turned to Zhu Bajie.
He decided to bring Zhu Bajie, whose appetite was as vast as his belly, to finish off Noodle Mountain Rice Mountain.
Zhu Bajie nodded in agreement, and the two vanished in a flash
