Power Progression

Nature and Formation

Spiritual Power is the cultivator-controlled result of refining heaven-and-earth spiritual energy. Spirit Roots attract compatible ambient energy, but this passive attraction alone is insufficient; the energy must be guided through the meridians, circulated through the heavenly cycle, and condensed in the dantian. Opening the meridians substantially improves absorption speed. 4

The first condensed drop is described as spiritual energy concentrated dozens of times over and existing in gaseous form. Once formed, it can be moved to any part of the body almost instantly. 8

Spiritual Energy and Spirit Roots

• Heaven-and-earth spiritual energy appears in multiple attributes, including blue, red, and green particles. Spirit Roots particularly attract energy matching their attributes. 4
• Fewer Spirit Root attributes produce purer energy refinement and faster cultivation. Five Elements Spirit Roots are considered the weakest, while Dual, Single, Variant, and Heavenly Spirit Roots provide progressively greater advantages. 2 230
• A Water Attribute Heavenly Spirit Root can draw in Water Spiritual Energy at a rate faster than ordinary pill-assisted cultivation when the surrounding environment is sufficiently rich in that attribute. 238

Dantian Circulation

• Spiritual Energy is circulated through the body according to a cultivation technique before being gathered in the dantian. 8 9
• The Radiant Qi Refining Technique can continue operating after the first drop of spiritual power forms, enabling passive cultivation even when the user is not meditating. Passive cultivation is less than half as effective as active practice. 8
• At Foundation Establishment, liquid spiritual power strengthens the body from within and expels acquired impurities during the breakthrough. 104
• A Sword Cultivator's Sword Soul can become the central focus of spiritual-power circulation, continuously tempering both the spiritual power and the Sword Soul. 111

Applications

Spellcasting

Spells consist of hand seals, incantations, and a spiritual-power channeling method. The channeling method is the essential component; hand seals and incantations assist the process and can be omitted once the spell is sufficiently mastered. 12

• Early Qi Refining reserves generally support only low-grade, attribute-less Tier 1 spells. 9
• Elemental spells normally require Mid Qi Refining spiritual-power reserves because of their greater consumption. 9
• Spiritual Power can operate practical spells such as the Object Manipulation Technique, Light Body Technique, and Cold Dispelling Technique. 9
• Mid-grade Tier 1 spells require more spiritual power, more complex channeling pathways, additional hand seals, and longer incantations than low-grade spells. 18

Artifact and Sword Use

• Mid Qi Refining cultivators can wield a Magic Artifact weapon physically, but cannot yet perform Artifact Control; a Magic Artifact reaches its full potential in the hands of Late Qi Refining cultivators using Sword Control. 18
• Spirit Ship artifacts may be powered by either a cultivator's Spiritual Power or Spirit Stones. 37
• Golden Core cultivators use high-quality, abundant Spiritual Power to form Escape Light around their bodies for high-speed movement. 250

Healing and Body Enhancement

• The Cold Dispelling Technique uses spiritual power to dispel mundane illness and can treat some injuries and diseases. 9
• Foundation Establishment liquid spiritual power supports drastic bodily enhancement, including regenerative healing of damaged organs and reattachment of severed limbs. 104
• Thunder Soul Resonance can be used to restore another cultivator's origin, though doing so is tiring for the user. 373

Spirit Pressure

The Mysterious Tier talent Heavy Spirit Pressure increases control over one's own spiritual power tenfold and enables the innate comprehension of spirit pressure. 348

• Fine control allows attribute-less spiritual power to be solidified into spirit points. 348
• Condensed spiritual-power points can reinforce physical strikes or act as a defense; Su Bai used a white point of spiritual power to withstand an attack from a Spirit Sword. 337
• Greater precision improves spell power while reducing consumption, and also benefits alchemy and Qi Refining. 348
• After Golden Core, spirit pressure can be developed into a domain that consumes the user's reserves to elevate speed and strength against targets within it. 348

Attribute Fusion

The Five Elements Rotation Technique manifests as five-colored spiritual lights. When the Five Elements nourish one another, they form a replenishing defensive cycle; when they restrain one another, they produce a rotating annihilating force. 428

• The Nether Ancestor demonstrates the ability to fuse Spiritual Powers of different attributes through mastery of the Five Elements Way. 419
• Earth-attribute Spiritual Energy is characterized by heaviness and can be converted into offensive force through suitable Sword Dao techniques. 400

Recovery and Consumption

• An Essence Replenishing Pill can be refined over roughly three hours; for Su Bai, one pill produced about ten additional drops of spiritual energy and was estimated to equal three days of arduous cultivation. 9
• Yellow Dragon Pills improve Spiritual Power more effectively than Essence Replenishing Pills, as their ingredients include genuine spiritual herbs. 18 22
• Dense Spiritual Energy can reduce reliance on pills. In the Water Pavilion Secret Realm, Su Bai's Water Attribute Heavenly Spirit Root refined ambient Water Spiritual Energy faster than he could absorb spirit pills. 238
