Grounds and Leadership

• Fu Nian heads Little Sage Village. Yan Lu and Zhang Liang are its Second and Third Masters; together, the three are known as the Three Heroes of Qi and Lu 496 519 523.
• Master Xun is a senior Confucian scholar and Martial Dao Celestial whose presence deters Wang Li from ordering a forceful search of the village 522 523 529.
• Wendao Academy is where village disciples study. Other named buildings include the Six Arts Hall and Three Provinces Residence 562.
• The village has hundreds of Confucian disciples, whom its leaders evacuate when a confrontation threatens the grounds 526 527.

History

Shelter for the Mohists

After a Qin Army search makes You Jian Inn unsafe, Zhang Liang proposes moving the Mohist fugitives to Little Sage Village. At Tianming's request, Master Xun agrees to shelter them; Fu Nian reluctantly accepts the decision. Zhang Liang then guides the Mohists, Gai Nie, and Wei Zhuang into the village at night 518 519 520.

Wang Li hires Su Chen to investigate the village. Su Chen infiltrates it and captures Yan Lu, but Master Xun interrupts the interrogation. When Su Chen threatens the disciples and the village, Master Xun permits him to leave rather than risk a destructive fight. The disciples evacuate during the confrontation and return after Master Xun announces that the immediate danger has passed 523 524 526 527 528.

Su Chen subsequently advises Wang Li to surround Little Sage Village and use the captured Mohist Pao Ding's planned execution to draw the fugitives out. Qin troops block the village as the Mohists prepare to relocate, leaving them unable to depart openly 529 530 532.

Fusu's Visit and the Search

Fusu later visits the village with Wang Li and Su Chen. Wang Li alleges that another Mohist fugitive remains hidden there. Despite the Confucian masters' objections, Fusu asks Master Xun to allow a search, and Master Xun agrees 558 559 560 561 562.

The search party visits Wendao Academy but chooses not to disturb its students, then proceeds to the Six Arts Hall. There Su Chen encounters Tianming and Shaoyu, who are studying under the names Zi Ming and Zi Yu; he does not expose their identities at that point 562 563 564.
