Background / History

Eastern Emperor Taiyi led the Yin Yang School from Luosheng Hall near Xianyang. He sensed an unfamiliar Martial Dao Celestial aura in the city and grew concerned that Great Qin was gaining another powerful expert. Moon God then reported Fusu's hostility toward the school, prompting Taiyi to travel to Xianyang 585.

After witnessing Su Chen kill Guiguzi, Taiyi abandoned his plan to probe for weaknesses and apologized to Fusu for Moon God and Star Soul's failure to protect him. He later agreed not to interfere if Fusu moved against the Yin Yang School, treating the concession as a way to buy time for his own plans 599 600.

Taiyi sought to open an Ancient Secret Realm connected to the Azure Dragon Seven Mansions, believing it contained a substance that could extend a Martial Dao Celestial's life. He had ordered Moon God to capture Gao Yue and prepare her as the “key” to its gate 585 615. When Su Chen attacked the school, Taiyi initially refused to fight for fear of jeopardizing the realm's opening. Su Chen eventually forced a confrontation, but Taiyi retreated when he could not persuade him to stop 611 613 616.

Taiyi opened the realm and encountered seven ancient spirits. They defeated him and intended to devour him; he survived by offering to lead them to experts of the current era instead 639. He returned with them to seek revenge on Su Chen. Bei Mingzi engaged Taiyi while Su Chen fought the spirits; Master Xun and a Great Qin Imperial Family Martial Dao Celestial then joined Bei Mingzi, severely injuring Taiyi 638 639 640. When Taiyi reached the surviving spirits, Kang Jin Long surrendered him in an attempted truce. Su Chen killed Taiyi with his blade 644.

Taiyi is cautious when his larger objective is at risk. He endured Fusu's threats and Su Chen's assault on the Yin Yang School rather than risk an injury before the secret realm opened. He was also willing to sacrifice the school's disciples—and even its allegiance—to gain time 600 611 613. When his survival was threatened inside the realm, he offered other experts to the ancient spirits in his place 639.
