Stay for Me

Qin Huaimeng watched the two leave, a worried look appearing on her face.

"Since you had concerns, why didn't you say anything just now and simply watch them leave?" Wang Haoran asked.

"I did soften a little, but I was more worried about you." Qin Huaimeng furrowed her brows.

"Did you think that if you said you wouldn't forgive them, I would kill them on the spot?" Wang Haoran laughed.

"Wouldn't you?" Qin Huaimeng froze.

"Do I look that foolish to you?" Wang Haoran countered.

Qin Huaimeng was stunned for a moment before cautiously asking, "Then if I had said I wouldn't forgive them, what would you have done?"

"I wouldn't have done anything just then," Wang Haoran said.

Qin Huaimeng was even more confused. She sighed. "It's too late to say anything now. They've already left."

"Actually, whether you forgave them or not, the outcome wouldn't have changed." Wang Haoran spoke mysteriously.

"What do you mean? What exactly did you do to them? Why were they so afraid that they came to beg for my forgiveness? And they didn't seem to know you either. Did you go find them with your face covered? What is going on?" Qin Huaimeng fired off question after question.

Wang Haoran truly had no answer to those questions. He could only ask Ye Fan what exactly he had done.

But none of that was important.

"There are some things you don't need to know. You only need to know that your worries were unnecessary. That's enough," Wang Haoran said.

Qin Huaimeng was deeply puzzled about what he intended to do next, but the thought had barely surfaced when she vaguely heard two pained howls from outside.

The voices even sounded somewhat familiar.

Qin Huaimeng quickly walked out of the office to take a look.
