"Yota, are you leaving already? You really don't want to stay and become a Supreme Kai?"

Old Kaioshin looked utterly reluctant to see him go as he spoke to Yota.

"Come on, old man. You just want me to stay so Beerus, the God of Destruction, won't come back and beat you up again, right?"

"Unfortunately, I have no interest in staying here to play with cats! Besides, being a Supreme Kai is far too restrictive. My own abilities are already no weaker than a Supreme Kai's, so what meaning is there in having that title?"

Yota curled his lip as he spoke to Old Kaioshin.

Old Kaioshin's main reason for wanting Yota to stay was to keep Beerus from sealing him away again. In truth, Old Kaioshin had been sealed inside the Kaioshin Sword by Beerus.

As for the reason, on the surface, it was because Old Kaioshin had offended Beerus. But whether Beerus had intended to leave himself a contingency plan, no one really knew.

After all, the corresponding abilities of the God of Destruction and the Supreme Kais were far too troublesome. Once all the Supreme Kais died, Beerus, as the God of Destruction, would die as well.

In Beerus's eyes, the Supreme Kais of every generation were no different from weaklings. Who knew when they might be killed off? For a God of Destruction who spent his daily life sleeping and destroyed planets whenever he woke up, it was entirely possible that one day, while sleeping, he would simply drop dead because all the Supreme Kais had been wiped out.

Finding a Supreme Kai and sealing him inside the Kaioshin Sword as a backup was hardly an unimaginable thing to do.

Yota understood this perfectly well, but that did not mean he was willing to stay
