Appearance
The Four-Eyed Fierce Tiger is an immense orange tiger, over five meters long, with black stripes and an overwhelming bloodline-based aura that can paralyze weaker beasts with fear. 20
- Orange fur marked by black stripes.
- Two distinctive markings above its eyes resemble an additional pair of eyes. 20
- Can speak, imitate human gestures, and kneel in formal supplication. 25
- Later became gaunt and nearly unrecognizable after attempting to reform. 44
Background
Before gaining intelligence, the tiger was an ordinary mountain predator that did not hunt humans. During a winter famine, it reached a ruined temple near death; the temple's Old Monk tried to save it by feeding it his own flesh, but the starving tiger swallowed him whole instead. This act awakened the tiger's intelligence and set it on its path of cultivation. 25
The Old Monk became the tiger's first Grief Ghost. Rather than resent the tiger, he acted as its teacher and friend, instructing it in good and evil and persuading it to restrain itself. Unable to stop eating humans for the cultivation benefits, the tiger agreed to eat only those it deemed wicked. 25
Over decades, this self-appointed judgment became increasingly corrupt. The tiger used Grief Ghosts to lure and test people, then devoured those who displayed malice. It eventually consumed several thousand humans, including people it had judged wrongly, while its cultivation became blocked by severe Karmic Obstacles. 20 26
History
Encounter with Lin Chan
The tiger encountered Lin Chan at a ruined temple, where it tested him with four Grief Ghosts disguised as people. Lin Chan saw through their illusions and challenged the tiger's claim that it only ate the wicked, arguing that good and evil could not be decided through the tiger's one-sided judgment. 20
Prompted by Lin Chan, the tiger allowed its enslaved spirits to explain their pasts and used Soul Search to verify their accounts. It released Old Woman Liu, Zu Moyan, and Wang Yunji after realizing it had misjudged them, though it devoured Pan Chunping and her daughter after manipulating Pan Chunping's memories to erase her remaining obsession. 21 22 23 24
Attempted Reformation
Instead of attacking Lin Chan after its hypocrisy was exposed, the tiger knelt and asked him for guidance. It revealed that its true concern was its stalled cultivation and increasing mental instability. 25
Lin Chan explained that consuming humans had burdened the tiger with Karmic Obstacles, preventing its advance toward Form Transformation and risking its eventual degeneration into a mindless evil beast. The tiger agreed to abandon human flesh and seek orthodox demon-beast paths such as Absorb Moon, Merge Light, Consume Radiance, and Consume Dew. 26
The tiger asked Lin Chan to call it Four Eyes, returned the swallowed Little Li, and healed both Little Li and Little White with blood mist before departing. The blood mist later enabled the two ordinary animals to begin cultivating. 26 27 39
Flight to Wu Country
After reforming, Four Eyes left Heze Mountain and fled south into Wu Country, avoiding Shu Mountain. Shu Mountain regarded it as a dangerous but ostensibly reformed demon and chose not to pursue it outright. 31 34
Lin Chan later visited Cuihou Peak as Shu Mountain's representative. Four Eyes congratulated him on entering Shu Mountain, but its reform remained unstable: it claimed to have sent its enslaved spirits out to perform good deeds, yet accused Shu Mountain of stirring its evil desires and nearly devoured Lin Chan. The sight of the Old Monk's phantom within Lin Chan's image shocked it back to clarity, and it again knelt before him. 44
Personality
Four Eyes is intelligent enough to recognize moral concepts, but it initially interprets them through a crude and self-serving standard. It sincerely believed that restricting itself to “wicked” prey honored its pact with the Old Monk, even while its methods created victims and encouraged wrongdoing. 20 25
It is proud, volatile, and easily ashamed when confronted with evidence of its mistakes. However, it is also unusually willing to listen, investigate through Soul Search, and admit fault when proven wrong. It spared Zu Moyan a second time and released Wang Yunji after recognizing their circumstances. 21 23 24
Its greatest fear is losing the intelligence it gained after devouring the Old Monk. This fear, combined with its desire to reach Form Transformation, motivated its willingness to seek Lin Chan's instruction and attempt a different cultivation path. 26
Abilities & Skills
Demon-Beast Cultivation
Four Eyes possesses five hundred years of Dao and is regarded as a major demon comparable to a Core Formation cultivator.
- Its cultivation was accelerated by consuming human flesh. 25
- Its tiger bloodline is considered exceptionally high-ranking among demon beasts. 49
- Its immense presence induces instinctive terror in animals; Little White was completely immobilized by the bloodline suppression. 20
- Its human-eating created Karmic Obstacles that blocked its Form Transformation and threatened to destroy its intelligence. 26
Grief Ghost Arts
Four Eyes enslaves spirits as Grief Ghosts, using them to deceive, test, and manipulate living people.
- Summoned four Grief Ghosts to test Lin Chan's character through disguises and provocation. 20
- Can silence Grief Ghosts, bind them to its authority, and inflict extreme pain by tearing at their souls. 21

Blood Mist

- The mist empowered the two animals to fight and dissipate Zu Moyan's spirit. 27
