Both of them were a little surprised. Just moments ago, Snape had told them that their tutoring was over and they would not need to come back again, then promptly "shown" them out of the Potions classroom.

The tutoring had been even shorter than they had expected.

The first lesson had covered key knowledge points. The second and third had been practice handling ingredients, while the lesson just now had involved brewing Potions. They had needed to select from the ingredients Snape had prepared and make a potion from them, essentially an early assessment. The answers they handed in had been nearly flawless.
