Recently, Guy Bernard had been in a terrible mood.
Ever since losing to Albert Anderson in the first round of the Magical School Potion Championship a few days ago, he had realized that the talent for Potions he had been proud of since childhood, along with the pride in his heart, had been ruthlessly trampled beneath someone's feet and ground into mud.
He still remembered how, when he was young, his grandfather had told him that he possessed great talent in Potions.
Guy Bernard had not disappointed everyone's expectations. After entering Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, he had displayed astonishing talent in Potions and entered the Potions Tournament, intending to use this event, held once every seven years, as a stepping stone to advance further.
However, everything had changed over the past few months.
His grandfather, who had become President of the Extraordinary Apothecary Association, told him that if he wanted to win the Potions Tournament, he had to follow his arrangements.
Guy Bernard had rejected the idea from the bottom of his heart. He believed that his talent and ability could win him the Golden Cauldron. He had no need to cheat, nor did he disdainfully wish to do so.
"Your talent for Potions is only a little better than everyone else's. Most of your current achievements come from the tremendous effort I put into teaching and nurturing you from an early age." President Bernard cruelly shattered his grandson's beautiful dream. "I told you that you had great talent because I wanted you to retain your passion and confidence in Potions. But now that you're an adult, you need to start facing reality. The world has never been as simple as you imagined."
