"Is it over?"
In the library, Harry, who had been absentmindedly doing his holiday homework, kept sneaking glances at the Marauder's Map tucked inside his book. When he saw that everyone gathered in the Headmaster's office had left, he immediately perked up and sprang to his feet, knocking over his chair in the process. The loud crash drew the attention of all the students working on their holiday homework in the library.
Ron and Hermione, who had been diligently working on their holiday homework, both looked at Harry as he packed up his things. Seeming to realize something, they began gathering their own belongings as well.
Ron wanted to see how the appeal had gone, while Hermione worried that the two of them might cause unnecessary trouble at a crucial moment.
It was not that Hermione did not trust Harry and Ron. Neither of them ever seemed to think before acting, and if they got carried away, who knew what might happen? They might even ruin Albert's plan.
Albert was clearly worried about the same thing, which was why he had specifically warned the three of them not to get involved.
The moment they left the library, Ron asked, "What's wrong, Harry?"
"Malfoy and the others have all left the Headmaster's office. I think Buckbeak's appeal must be over," Harry said in a low voice.
"Harry, I know what you're thinking, but we shouldn't interfere in this matter." Hermione hurried to catch up with them and warned sternly, "We promised. Going over there now might only make things worse."
"Hermione, we just want to know how Buckbeak's appeal went," Ron said softly, trying to reassure her.
"Harry, this is the critical moment." Hermione grabbed Harry's arm and said seriously, "We don't have any good ideas, so don't go making trouble
