However, Peter had only done moderately well in Care of Magical Creatures class back then, and had no idea how to search for Unicorns in a forest. Fortunately, through his filthy little friends, Peter could learn the Unicorns' approximate locations.
But merely finding a Unicorn was not enough. Obtaining Unicorn blood was no easy task. Unicorns were magical creatures with extremely powerful magic. Not only were they fleet of foot, but ordinary magic could hardly harm them. Though their resistance to magic might not be as formidable as a dragon's, it certainly could not be ignored. And Peter was sure he could never match a Unicorn's speed.
Yet obtaining Unicorn blood was the Dark Lord's first task for Peter. Peter knew perfectly well that he had to grit his teeth and complete it, unless he wanted to leave outright. If he truly did that, there would no longer be a place for him by the Dark Lord's side, and he would end up on the Dark Lord's kill list.
