Two steady figures bathed in the glow of the setting sun.
Ming Xiangyun gazed at the sunset staining the horizon red-gold and slowly said, "Brother Li, I didn't expect your Tenth Legion to be the ones deployed for this mission."
Li Lingfeng's eyes shifted slightly as he looked at Ming Xiangyun's profile. "Brother Ming, from the sound of it, you don't seem very pleased?"
A familiar hint of a smile appeared on Ming Xiangyun's face. "How could that be? With you personally leading the team, I couldn't be happier."
The corner of Li Lingfeng's mouth moved, his voice carrying little emotion. "I thought you were disappointed it wasn't the Ninth Legion coming."
Ming Xiangyun's smile faded a little. His gaze moved toward the more distant wilderness, and only after a moment of silence did he say, "You're overthinking it, brother."
"It's just... the previous trouble with Brother Wu Feng and the Demon Dragon Legion made me think a great deal."
Li Lingfeng did not answer at once. The evening wind stirred both men's robes.
After a while, he asked in a low voice, "Brother... what are your thoughts?"
