Qu Jianlei did not tell Hua Xiezhi whether there was actually a Supreme in the bunker.

He merely said blandly, "Rest for a while. Once it rains, we'll go scout the area during the day."

The rain started at eleven in the morning. It was neither especially heavy nor light, and the wind was fairly strong too.

The two rented a car in the small city and drove to within roughly five kilometers of the manor.

Then they parked and got out, wandering around in the rain.

They passed due east of the manor, never coming closer than about six kilometers, and did not travel along the southeast side.

They were stopped twice along the way. Not only were their identities checked, Hua Xiezhi's backpack was inspected as well.

The backpack contained food, water, wilderness survival tools, and a tent. There was nothing else.

Even so, the city guards sternly warned them that this was a military restricted area and that they had better keep their distance.
