So when he went into seclusion to break through, he did not put the array away. Instead, he placed it in front of himself—just in case he needed it.

Pierre also knew that it was the treasure Above Supreme valued most, and he had never shown any sign of coveting it.

Yet without warning, he seized half of the array.

Paranoid flew into a rage and asked what he was doing. Pierre casually gave an answer, fired off a spell, then turned and ran.

At this point in the story, Paranoid could not help giving a bitter smile. "He actually said... he was afraid my failed breakthrough would destroy the treasure!"

He believed that possibility did not exist, although he admitted that his temper was not particularly good.

In fact, he felt terribly wronged. "I gave him everything. Even if I failed, I would have left the array behind!"

What chilled him to the bone even more was that the other party had actually launched an offensive spell while fleeing! He was already Above Supreme. Though his condition was worrying, his scattered body was actually harder to attack.

What effect could an attack from a mere A-rank have on him?

What he found most unacceptable was such blatant betrayal! So without hesitation, he unleashed a Mental Attack, intending to kill that scoundrel.
