An Ex-Machina on a Dimensional Journey

"Grr..."

Atalanta bared her teeth and let out a beastlike growl. Her eyes, already those of a wild animal, burned with the desire to tear whatever stood before her to pieces.

She swept her longbow across her body. Streaks of purple light shot from it, scattering through the space ahead before changing course halfway and converging on Xiu Er.

A rain of arrows burst forth. Every arrow became a Tracking Missile, bringing Xiu Er and everything around her within range of the bombardment.

One explosion after another swallowed Xiu Er in an instant, but Atalanta was far from finished.

Having loosed the arrows, she stamped the ground apart and charged into the cloud of dust thrown up by the blasts.

The gale raised by her speed swept the haze from the battlefield.

Two figures burst from the lingering dust and flew toward the dense forest beyond.

Everything along their path crumbled into countless fragments.

Purple arrows erupted once more from the black bow, their tremendous recoil forcing even Atalanta to lean back.

An enormous arrow of energy broke the sound barrier and shot toward Xiu Er nearby. It shattered against her moonlit silver breastplate without leaving so much as a scratch.

That arrow was only the beginning. Atalanta twisted her waist forward again, poured all her strength into her next step, and shattered the ground ahead to drive herself even faster.
