Background / History

Mashu was created through artificial insemination and genetic manipulation as part of clinical trials intended to harness Heroic Spirit power. Her body was designed with a maximum lifespan of eighteen years; rather than visibly aging, her cells deteriorate rapidly until her bodily functions will eventually cease. 172

Dr. Roman later asks Xiu Er to stabilize her condition. Mashu accepts Xiu Er's treatment despite its alarming flintlock-like casting device, and Xiu Er uses a time-based power to rewind her physical state by three years. Mecha-Kai Singularity

Mashu joins Fujimaru Ritsuka's group in confronting Xiu Er and the Mecha-Kai collective. She shields Fujimaru and Mordred from spike attacks with Lord Chaldeas, then returns to assist Mordred after escorting the Masters away from the battlefield. 143 146

After being struck away from the fight, Mashu encounters Number Eleven, learns that Xiu Er is part of a numbered collective, and is moved out of the original space. She later reunites with Fujimaru and reports that Number Eleven did not injure her. 146 147

Xiu Er's later agreement to work with Chaldea confuses Mashu, particularly because of the collective's earlier capture of Masters and Servants. 157 She returns to Chaldea with Fujimaru after the Singularity is resolved. 160

Recovery at Chaldea

At Chaldea, Mashu gradually becomes less wary around Xiu Er, introduces Fufuu to him, and worries that Fufuu's initial avoidance may mean it dislikes him. 162 169
