Background / History

Following Pope Qian Xunji’s defeat and death, Qian Daoliu heard Guimei and Yue Guan’s account of Tang Hao’s escape, openly condemning the failed operation. He personally examined Qian Xunji’s corpse with Soul Power, noticed an abnormality at the wound in his chest, and silently turned his suspicion toward Bibi Dong. He then removed Qian Xunji’s body from Spirit City while ordering Golden Crocodile to remain behind and Azure Luan to manage the Papal Hall temporarily. 7

After failing to locate Tang Hao, Qian Daoliu returned to Spirit City and resolved the papal succession. He declared Bibi Dong the new Pope because Qian Renxue was still too young to assume the position. 28 Though wary of Bibi Dong, he later acknowledged that the Qian family owed her a debt and chose to stop intervening in the conflict between her and Qian Renxue. 175
