Background / History

Camelot's succession

Morgan first meets Sakura Matou in a jungle village while operating under the identity of the Black Mother, periodically improving the villagers' bloodlines. Though initially guarded, she agrees to Sakura's proposal to establish a Camelot dynasty for her in the past after learning of Sakura's Destiny Points and allies' powers 53.

Upon returning to Uther's era, Morgan's future self merges with her younger self. Britain's Island's Power abandons the mortally weakened Uther and transfers to Morgan, inadvertently causing his death; she subsequently asserts her right as Camelot's sole heir against Merlin's objections 56 57.

Morgan formally takes control of Camelot but dissolves its existing political structure, allowing unwilling nobles to leave while accepting the few who remain as her subjects. She then works with Sakura and the royal court's mages to stabilize the city through summoned phantasmal beasts and Stone Sentinels 57 59.

Fae Camelot

As her Fae identity resurfaces, Morgan's hair changes from dark gold to silver-white. Seeking to restore Britain as a land ruled by Fae, she constructs the Fae Tower, enabling Fae to travel freely between Avalon and the surface world 61.

Morgan grows increasingly hostile toward humans and refuses pleas to protect territories threatened by Vortigern. She nevertheless prepares New Camelot for war, viewing Vortigern—the will of Britain—as something the King of the Island must conquer 63 64.

During the battle for New Camelot, Morgan unveils the full Island's Power, defeats Vortigern in humanoid and white-dragon forms, and has him bound with Fae-rune chains. She later keeps him as a chained captive beneath her throne 66 68.

War against Artoria and the rebellion

After securing Fae Camelot, Morgan turns toward revenge against Artoria. She captures Kay and several Knights of the Round Table Servants, using runes to control them, then deploys them against the human resistance 69 71.

Morgan leads an assault on the Oxfordshire resistance camp, shielding her army from siege weapons and empowering Mordred, Gawain, and Gareth with the Island's Power. Merlin ambushes her during the battle; although Morgan counters with a corrosive magic cannon, Avalon reflects the attack's consequences back upon her, forcing her retreat to Avalon to recover 73 74.

While wounded, Morgan supplies Mélusine with enough Magic Power to perform possession summoning, producing the Servant-Fae hybrid Fae Lancelot. She later fights Sakura directly, using Fae flight and long-range Magecraft before banishing Sakura into an imaginary space with a secret spell; after Sakura concedes, Morgan agrees to stop interfering with Sakura and Artoria's affairs 75 76 77.

Re-blackening and defeat

Morgan becomes isolated after most Fae abandon Camelot and Avalon’s support is cut off. When Nimue proposes reclaiming the Ladies of the Lake's dark aspects from her, Morgan interprets it as total rejection and returns to her vengeful Demoness state 82 83.

She disconnects Ley Lines from the ritual sustaining Fae Britain and reclaims the Island's Power previously spent on maintaining the Fae, resurrection, resource transfers, and Camelot itself. With this reclaimed power, she unleashes homunculus knights, phantasmal beasts, enhanced Servants, and Vortigern against the rebel army 83.

Morgan battles the Ladies of the Lake with black lightning and the Island's Power, but Nimue's Noble Phantasm begins extracting her dark Fae aspect. Merlin then pierces Morgan with Excalibur, and Sakura ultimately defeats and captures Morgan and Vortigern 85 86. Sakura later returns Morgan and Fae Lancelot to Morgan's original era, attempting to atone for having used her 89.

Britain Lostbelt

In the Britain Lostbelt, Morgan rules a Fae-controlled fairyland divided among her divine kingdom, a human-Fae kingdom, and traditional Fae royal courts 434. After the original Lostbelt's destruction, she creates and sustains an illusory replacement world from its remains, maintaining it by harvesting Fae and humans 439.

Morgan seeks Sakura's help to stabilize Britain, proposing the dismantling of the Five Great Calamities and a merger between the fairy realm and ruined Britain. Her plan requires Fae remains as material for a reborn Britain and the resolution of divine corpses' lingering resentment 440.

During the fairyland's collapse, Morgan defends her kingdom against a million Fae, relying on loyal forces and enormous reserves of collected Magic Power. When the Nalakuveran cannot be stopped, she disintegrates much of the fairyland to preserve her northern territory and divine kingdom around Camelot 458 463 465. After Sakura defeats the Nalakuveran, Morgan accepts Sakura's offer to join her side in exchange for preserving what remains of Britain and bringing Baobhan Sith with her 465.

Appearance

Morgan is a mature Artoria-like woman whose appearance shifts alongside her changing identity. She commonly conceals her face beneath a thin black veil and carries a black staff resembling a spear 53.

  • Her face resembles that of a mature Artoria 53.
  • Her hair changes from dark gold to silver-white as she returns to her Fae nature 61.
  • She wears a black court dress or distinctive mage's dress 53 61.
  • She can manifest dark-purple, glowing Fae wings for aerial maneuvering 76.
  • She often hangs a black veil from her crown before major confrontations 66 232.

Personality

Morgan is defined by her fixation on Britain, the throne, and her perceived rightful role as the Island's ruler. The prospect of becoming King of Britain is powerful enough to overwhelm her judgment, reflecting an obsession shared by her Fae nature and inheritance of the Island's Power 215.

Her feelings toward Uther are conflicted: she grieves for him as his daughter while also carrying the future Demoness's hatred. By contrast, her hatred for Merlin is immediate and near-absolute, as she considers him responsible for the destruction of her life and identity 56.

Morgan's revenge is deliberate rather than impulsive. She does not initially want Artoria killed outright; she wants Artoria to suffer and fall into despair. This cruelty coexists with strategic restraint, as she refuses to spend powerful secret arts carelessly even during her confrontation with Sakura 69 76.

Despite claiming to act for the Fae, Morgan cannot understand them or their morality. Their abandonment drives her into isolation and re-blackening, but the continued loyalty of Fae Lancelot and the remaining 748 Fae restores enough resolve for her to return to the battlefield 82 83.

In the Lostbelt, Morgan is pragmatic, tireless, and willing to commit atrocities—including harvesting lives and dismantling her own fairyland—to preserve Britain. She remains cautious toward Sakura after being deceived in the past, but her priority never changes: Britain comes before the rest of the world 439 440 465.

Abilities & Skills

Island's Power

Morgan inherits and wields the power of Britain itself, granting her overwhelming Magic Power and authority over the island 57 66.

  • Can generate city-scale magical barriers capable of stopping massed siege fire 73.
  • Can channel the Island's Power into contracted Servants, dramatically increasing their magical output 73.
  • Creates destructive magic cannons, including corrosive or death-cursed blasts; one attack using one-tenth of the Island's Power produces an explosion comparable to a small nuclear strike 74.
  • Uses the power to bind, wound, and enslave Vortigern 66.
  • Can reclaim power previously allocated to Fae resurrection, the Fae Tower, resource transfers, and Britain's environmental maintenance 83.
  • Excessive use risks destabilizing or collapsing Britain itself 83 85.

Fae Magecraft

Morgan is a top-tier Magus of the Divine Era with extensive Fae Magecraft knowledge and exceptional long-range spellcasting ability 53 76.

  • Produces barrages of magic bullets, magical shields, binding spells, magical gales, and large-scale elemental attacks 73 74 85.
  • Uses Fae wings to evade high-speed attacks and bombard opponents from extreme range 76.
  • Employs regression Magecraft to return to Avalon 74.
  • Summons phantasmal beasts and creates homunculus knights for warfare and governance 59 83.
  • Creates demonic flames capable of burning Fae bodies and souls to ash 215 226.
  • Her spellcasting is limited when maintaining Britain-wide rituals or supporting Fae resurrection and infrastructure 83.

Fae Tower and Avalon access

Morgan constructs the Fae Tower from Camelot's royal palace, creating a permanent link between the surface world and Avalon 61.

  • Allows Fae to enter and leave Avalon freely 61.
  • Transfers resources from Avalon to Britain 83.
  • Supports the resurrection of slain Fae, though each revival consumes Island's Power 74 83.
  • Its operation weakens or stops when Morgan gathers her Magic Power for battle 76.

Rune control and empowerment

Morgan uses Fae runes to dominate allies and enemies alike 66 71.

  • Enslaves Vortigern with Fae-rune chains alongside the Ladies of the Lake 66.
  • Controls Kay and several Knights of the Round Table Servants through runes 71.
  • Heals Fae Lancelot and restores the Magic Power of her Servants using dark magical energy 83.
  • Can make controlled Servants into complete puppets if she chooses, though she initially retains enough will for them to suffer as part of her revenge 72.

Weapon crafting and replica Holy Lances

Morgan is a skilled creator of Mystic Codes, armor, and replica Holy Lances 224 226.

  • Crafts replica Holy Lances capable of severely injuring Martha despite her status as a Holy Grail War arbiter 226.
  • Creates armor durable enough to protect Barghest from capture and subsequent danger 441.
  • In the Lostbelt, fires barrages of Holy Lances powered by Magic Power equivalent to tens of thousands of ordinary Fae per lance 463.
  • Considers and experiments with forging replica Holy Swords 224.

Creation Authority and fairyland maintenance

Lostbelt Morgan possesses a book connected to a broken Authority of Creation and uses it to build and sustain fairyland 455 465.

  • Creates an illusory world from the remains of the destroyed Britain Lostbelt 439.
  • Maintains the world by harvesting Fae and humans for resources 439.
  • Plans to use Fae remains as the outer material for a reborn Britain 440.
  • Can disintegrate portions of fairyland as a last resort to preserve her central kingdom 465.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Black magic staff — Morgan's primary Magecraft focus and close-combat weapon 53 73.
  • Black veil and crown — Used to conceal her face and adopted before decisive battles 66 232.
  • Fae-rune chains — Restrain and enslave Vortigern 66.
  • Replica Holy Lances — Crafted weapons used against powerful opponents such as Martha and Nalakuveran 226 463.
  • Book of Creation Authority — Lostbelt-era book used to sustain and ultimately disintegrate fairyland 455 465.
  • Seven-colored spiritron crystal — Retained as “insurance” during the Sea of Stars Holy Grail conflict 230.

Relationships

  • Sakura Matou — Initially Morgan's collaborator in creating a Fae Camelot; their alliance deteriorates over Morgan's hostility toward humanity and Sakura's manipulation of Artoria. Sakura defeats Morgan, later returns her to her original era, and eventually forms another uneasy alliance with Lostbelt Morgan to preserve Britain 53 76 86 89 439 440.
  • Merlin — Morgan's most hated enemy. She blames him for the chaos of her life, repeatedly clashes with him over Camelot and Britain, and remains hostile to alternate-world versions of him 56 57 73 289.
  • King Uther — Morgan's father and Camelot's former king. Morgan feels guilt over his death because the Island's Power transferred from him to her, but still claims her inheritance as his only heir 57.
  • Artoria — Morgan's sister and central target of her revenge. Morgan seeks to break Artoria through despair rather than simply kill her, while viewing Artoria's destined kingship as incompatible with her own claim 69 76.
  • Vivian — Morgan's counterpart and fellow Lady of the Lake. Vivian blesses Morgan but opposes her Fae Britain plan; their conflict culminates in Vivian joining attempts to reclaim Morgan's dark aspect 61 85.
  • Ninianne — A Lady of the Lake who openly supports Morgan. Though whimsical and unreliable, she fights for Morgan and attacks Nimue when she believes Morgan is being wronged 64 65 82.
  • Vortigern — Embodiment of Britain whom Morgan regards as a rival to conquer. She defeats, chains, and enslaves him, later using him as a weapon against the rebellion 64 66 84.
  • Fae Lancelot / Mélusine — Morgan supplies the Magic Power for Mélusine's possession summoning and accepts her new identity as Fae Lancelot. Lancelot remains loyal when most of Camelot abandons Morgan 75 82 83.
  • Habetrot — Morgan's trusted Fae Knight and effective administrator. Habetrot governs Morgan's faction in practice, acts decisively in her name, and is called Morgan's “only Fae friend” 452 458.
  • Aurora — A jealous adversary who resents Morgan's radiance, spreads accusations of betrayal, and seeks to destroy her; Titania's protection initially prevents Morgan from killing Aurora 445 450 453.
  • Lilitolia — Morgan's human-side counterpart, fused with Artoria's Spirit Base. Despite opposing Morgan's actions, Lilitolia does not readily abandon her and later demonstrates Morgan-derived Magecraft 456 473.
