Soon, the blood from Wes's wrist was drawn onto the dragon egg's shell, forming a twisted, terrifying pattern. The dripping blood pattern gave off a bewitching glow before slowly seeping into the shell.
"Mm..." Stirred by the pain in his wrist, the unconscious Wes's eyelids fluttered before he slowly opened them.
"Ah!" Wes scrambled backward on all fours. The pitch-black thing before him had frightened him half to death.
