It seemed that quite a few things had happened in the mortal world over the past hundred years.

Xu Chunniang shook her head and followed her memories toward Xu Family Village. Before long, she arrived at the village.

Several children were playing at the village entrance. Their chatter mentioned a teacher and a public school, piquing Xu Chunniang's curiosity.

She walked over and asked them, "What are this teacher and public school you were just talking about?"

The children gave her wary looks and clamped their mouths shut, refusing to answer.

One bolder little girl saw that Xu Chunniang did not look like a bad person. Rather than answering, she asked a question of her own.

"Where did you come from? How can you not even know about teachers and public schools?"

"I used to live here, but I have not returned for a very long time, so I had not heard of these things."

"You used to live here? Why have I never seen you?"

The little girl blinked in confusion, but did not dwell on the matter.

"A teacher is someone who teaches us, and a public school is where we learn to read and study.

I heard there are teachers and public schools outside too. Where in the world did you come from, not to know even that?"

Xu Chunniang awkwardly rubbed her nose. Why did she feel as though she had just been looked down upon by a little girl?

"Um... I came back from a very distant place. May I ask, is this Xu Family Village?"

"Of course this is Xu Family Village. Who are you looking for?"

"I am looking for..."

Instinctively, Xu Chunniang wanted to say her mother's and brother's names. Only after coming to her senses did she remember that they were
