World Tree—Spring of Wisdom.
The eldest of the three Fates Goddesses frowned and sighed:
"Ailande is dead... but he should not have died at the hands of the World Ender..."
As beings who governed the World Tree—fate.
The Twilight of the Gods and the destruction of the World Tree had been within their expectations from the very beginning.
But the current situation was not merely a matter of the timing being wrong; even the relationships between the figures were somewhat off.
For them, as Fate Weavers, this was truly a bewildering development.
It left them somewhat unable to make sense of the situation...
The second-ranked Fates Goddess lightly stirred the surface of the Spring of Wisdom from afar.
Within it, countless Goddesses of War with blood-red wings upon their backs were immediately revealed, slaughtering all living beings.
She added helplessly:
"Not only that, the Goddesses of War should originally have been destroyed by the frenzied Koma's jaws, yet now they have become one of the destroyers of the World Tree..."
"The situation has completely spiraled out of control."
Faced with that very direct answer, all three fell silent, somewhat helpless.
Looking at the black scales on his hand, which had been slightly scratched.
And the golden radiance that was rapidly fading.
Nidhogg calmly praised, "Not bad. I have felt your resolve..."
Though it did not sound particularly complimentary.
He truly was praising Ailande.
Even though he was currently only using power at the level of a Great Demon, it was no easy feat for the other party to inflict even such a negligible injury upon him.
As beings who had voluntarily descended from a higher rank, Orsaga and Ailande had inherently stood on unequal footing.
Their understanding and application of power were not on the same level at all.
