Orsaga's left hand tapped the armrest of his seat, seemingly without conscious intent, while his expression suggested he was thinking about something.
Sitting beside him, Elsa had been counting the stars out of sheer boredom. She tilted her head in puzzlement, then asked curiously:
"Did something happen?"
Although she had long since grown accustomed to an endless lifespan, she still occasionally felt a little bored.
Counting stars, as she had just been doing, was one particularly tedious way of passing the time.
Crimson Heaven was a region connected to countless planes and countless followers.
The seemingly endless stars in its sky increased in number every moment.
Some were born naturally here, while others came from sacrifices.
From time to time, Orsaga's subordinates would sacrifice special stars, or even entire planes, to fill out Crimson Heaven, making it expand wildly like a map with new sections constantly being attached!
So trying to count them all was an utterly pointless exercise.
Meeting her curious gaze,
Orsaga smiled faintly and explained:
"I just encountered someone who won't be particularly easy to deal with."
The Lady of Pain's true strength was certainly nothing to scoff at.
But he was undoubtedly stronger!
It was just that factors such as his race made him more susceptible to restrictions in certain environments.
The Lady of Pain was an unforeseen presence of unknown origins.
Although she had told Orsaga that she would not interfere, as an Abyss Demon with little in the way of scruples, he naturally could not place complete faith in a stranger's promises.
After all, if he believed everything anyone told him, how would he ever get anywhere?
