It was another Steel-type Pokémon. After Asen's Magmortar put on another display, Ami's Mawile proved no slouch either. That gaping maw of hers was exceptionally fierce.

It looked painful just to watch, but Magmortar was no pushover either. Most importantly, it had the advantage over Mawile.

After a desperate battle, Mawile ultimately lost to Magmortar.

However, Mawile had not fought for nothing. It had drained a great deal of Magmortar's stamina.

Ami's expression grew somewhat grave. With this, she already had two Pokémon that had lost their ability to battle.

She quickly sent out her third Pokémon—Ampharos.

Ampharos

Aptitude: Outstanding

Level: Late Gym Leader (58)

Magmortar did not have much stamina left, and it no longer had an advantage against Ampharos.

Before long, it was electrocuted by Ampharos and collapsed onto the ground, losing its ability to battle.

The corners of Asen's mouth curled up in an almost imperceptible smile.

Eichi naturally noticed it, and this only made him worry more for Ami.

Asen sent out his third Pokémon—Nidoking.

Nidoking

Level: Mid Gym Leader (56)

The battle between the two was about to erupt. Ampharos was already very strong; its reaction speed, move power, and evasion were all excellent.

Unfortunately, it had run into Nidoking. Right from the start, Nidoking launched a relentless bombardment at Ampharos, raining move after move down on it as if they cost nothing.

Ami was caught completely off guard, and so was Ampharos. Before it could react, Ampharos lost its ability to battle amid a series of explosions.

Ami felt that something was off. This Asen was far stronger than she had expected.
