Blood Demon Church

Deep within the gloomy forest stood a lone church-like building. Weathered by time, it had fallen somewhat into disrepair. Blue-green moss covered its outer walls, while thick vines from several nearby trees trailed down their branches onto the church roof, spreading across its pointed spire.

The canopy blocked out the sky, and a thin mist lingered in the woods. Sunlight filtering through the leaves formed hazy ribbons of light.

This church-like structure seemed so dead, eerie, and dark.

Zhao Xuan stood before the church, raising his head to examine the building whose former splendor could still be seen beneath its ruins.

"It isn't Spirit Hall."

After inspecting it, Zhao Xuan reached that conclusion with certainty. Though this building resembled Spirit Hall in style, its decorative patterns were vastly different.

Looking down at the footprints leading toward the church, Zhao Xuan took a deep breath, his gaze flickering.

"Let's see what kind of demons and monsters you really are," he murmured.

Upon entering the church, the first thing he saw was a tall statue of a deity. It wore a gentleman's suit with a high collar, holding up a wineglass in one hand as though toasting the distant sky.

A haughty smile curled at its lips, as if it were mocking something, while several drops of an unknown liquid dripped from the hem of its clothes.

After glancing at it a few times, Zhao Xuan shifted his attention to the rest of the church. But the instant his gaze landed on the surroundings, his pupils abruptly contracted.
