Inside the Temple of Eternity and Creation, Chen Long was walking briskly down a corridor.
Just then, a tall woman approached from ahead.
Her pale golden hair and gray eyes—the distinctive colors revealed her identity.
An outer member of Kabbalah, "World." She was also the maiden's supervisor.
Chen Long stopped, a smile appearing on his face. "Good morning, ma'am."
"You're going to her room again?" World frowned slightly. "You may be new, but you've been here long enough. You should be able to sense what she means to the organization, and what her position within it is."
"Isn't that because you never told me anything? Her identity, what she means to the organization—you told me none of it." Chen Long spread his hands. "This place is boring enough already, and you people refuse to give me any work on the grounds that I just joined and can't be trusted. I have to find some entertainment, don't I? Is there any rule forbidding me from going to her room?"
"You like her?" World asked, somewhat surprised.
"That should align with your interests, shouldn't it?" Chen Long said quietly.
World's expression changed slightly before she said coldly, "Don't pry into things you shouldn't know."
"Yes, yes, ma'am." Chen Long chuckled, then resumed walking toward his original destination.
World looked back at him, narrowing her eyes slightly as though pondering something.
Not long after, she shook her head, stopped thinking about it, and continued toward her own destination.
Time flowed on, and another half year quickly passed.
