Minato smiled. "Kushina obviously couldn't be here."
Shamu did not mind.
Choosing to fly to the Hokage Office had actually been part of the bait.
"Which clan was that person from just now?"
Minato pointed at the money chest beside them.
"Utatane Clan. When they saw Utatane Koharu had been taken away, they hurried over to return the stolen goods."
"But they still owe three hundred million in fines. If they can't scrape it together within a week, Utatane Koharu will die anyway."
Shamu clicked his tongue twice. "Hanging Mitokado Homura a while ago must have scared them out of their wits."
"How many from the Sarutobi Clan died?"
Minato shook his head. "Most of the Sarutobi Clan only skirted the line, so most were imprisoned. Only eighty-nine died."
"Still, quite a few people have been contacting the Sarutobi Clan in private lately."
Shamu smiled unconcernedly.
"Whether it's power or preferential treatment, they've lost it all."
"So many of them are saddled with Orochimaru's enormous debts."
"Apart from the few dovish members of the Sarutobi Clan who can keep themselves out of it."
"The hawkish Sarutobi Clan members will only face mounting pressure by the day."
"It's normal for them to have certain ideas."
Minato scratched his head. "Only you, Shamu, have so many schemes."
Shamu laughed and cursed, "Are you praising me or mocking me?"
Minato laughed heartily. "Of course I'm praising you."
Then his expression turned serious. "If this were wartime, half the Sarutobi Clan would have to be executed."
Shamu nodded in agreement. The more chaotic the outside world became, the harsher the punishments would be.
If they went back to the Warring States Era, the Sarutobi Clan would have been wiped out. At most, ten or twenty people would have been spared.
But this
