Before they knew it, a year had passed.
One day, the humans of this world suddenly discovered that the Deities they worshipped no longer responded to them. Not only the Deities, but the Soul Mages and Soul Guards within the churches had also nearly vanished. Only a small number of Soul Mages still remained in the Deities' Temples, praying day and night as they waited for their Deities to return.
It was only then that people realized the disappearance of the Deities had not greatly affected their lives. Those who needed to work still worked, those who needed to eat still ate, and those who needed to sleep still slept. In their free time, they could still chat with old friends.
They had once believed that everything they possessed had been bestowed by the Deities. Now they found that even without the Deities, their lives continued as before.
Of course, perhaps this generation did not feel it too deeply out of reverence for the Deities. They all believed the Deities had gone to a gathering and had no time to manage mortal affairs. But gatherings came and went; when the gathering ended, the omnipotent Deities would return and answer their faith.
It was the children who had never seen a Deity who carried a deep doubt in their hearts: Did Deities truly exist in this world?
They had never seen them, so they half believed and half doubted.
However, as the Deities remained absent for longer and longer, countless questions inevitably arose in people's hearts. Why had all the Deities in the world suddenly disappeared and stopped appearing before people? Some surviving Soul Mages even organized many teams to search the entire world for the Deities.
If their experiences were written into a book, it would probably be called Chronicles
