History

Academy years

Genitsu was an Academy legend for contradictory reasons: he achieved full marks in every theoretical subject, particularly courses on the Will of Fire, while consistently ranking near the bottom in practical combat. He deliberately presented himself as unmotivated and weak, even losing a clumsy spar against Moonlight Hayate. 1 2

Behind this facade, Genitsu recognized that his extreme vitality, self-healing, and chakra potential came from his connection to Godzilla. He began privately confronting and studying the being within him while concealing his abnormal abilities from Konoha’s wartime surveillance. 2 4

He discovered that Uchiha Ichie was using irradiated soil to force her own growth. Rather than expose her, Genitsu absorbed the contaminated ground and offered to help her become stronger without making her consume dirt. 5

Support for the Might family

Genitsu spent his family’s savings commissioning menial jobs for Might Duy and Might Guy when the two could barely find work. Over two years, he exhausted his finances to keep them supplied and training, earning public praise for embodying the Will of Fire. 4

Guy came to view Genitsu as the person who had kept both him and his father alive, resolving to protect him with everything he had. 5

Third Shinobi World War

After graduating into wartime service, Genitsu formed a highly effective team with Might Guy and Ichie under Aburame Shibi. His radiation-based sensing detected hidden enemies and summoned beasts, while his Nuclear Release neutralized Earth Style attacks and protected his teammates. 20 22

His battlefield growth made him a priority target for Iwagakure and Sunagakure. He defeated Special Jonin Gantetsu with Nuclear Release and toxin techniques, while Guy and Ichie eliminated Nagashi. 22 23

Genitsu’s large-scale radiation attacks became a decisive Konoha asset: enemy ninja weakened or died from radiation poisoning while Konoha forces protected him during sustained techniques. His effectiveness prompted enemy leaders Chiyo and Kitsuchi to order special forces against him. 42

After killing Kanzō with a Forbidden Jutsu, Genitsu became known throughout the ninja world as a dangerous young Kekkei Genkai user. 55

Jonin, disciples, and Root

Following the war, Genitsu saved the mortally wounded Might Duy with Re-creation and Regeneration, transforming him into a new life form and dispatching Xu of the Void to eliminate surviving Seven Ninja Swordsmen. 99

He adopted Kabuto as Shiranui Kabuto, then rescued Yamato from Orochimaru’s experiments and registered him as Shiranui Yamato. Both became his disciples and research assistants. 114 118

Although the brothers used Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei to restrain him, Genitsu later entered the Pure Land in his true form, defeated the Sage of Six Paths, and retrieved his soul to enable Planet Godzilla’s complete release. 481 525
