Ever since all of East Africa had entered a state of war, New Hamburg City had become a sturdy fortress wedged between Portugal and Britain.

All businesses in the city gave priority to supplying the military, while the municipal government and Provincial Government actively organized the urban districts and surrounding areas to support the war at the front.

Under the cover of night, the rumbling cannon fire from the northern and southern fronts could faintly be heard even in New Hamburg City. In fact, less than seventy kilometers south of New Hamburg City lay the front line of the war between East Africa and Britain. Under such a tense and stifling atmosphere—
