A little over ten minutes later, Professor McGonagall led the anxious-looking first years inside.

Filch barred the doors again, then stuck that card back onto the latch.

Black noticed that detail.

From the looks of it, although Filch was no longer a Squib, he still had not given up his passion for Ancient Rune.

They had not seen each other for a whole vacation, and his attainment in Ancient Rune had improved quite a bit.

Filch noticed Black's gaze and immediately bowed slightly to him.

Black nodded, then withdrew his gaze from him.

He liked underlings who knew how to work hard on their own.

At that moment, the Sorting Hat had just finished singing this year's song.

The Sorting Ceremony officially began.

Following the names Professor McGonagall called out, one newly enrolled young wizard after another put on the Sorting Hat, then was sorted into the four Houses.

After the Sorting Ceremony ended, Professor Dumbledore's speech came right after.

Dumbledore first introduced this year's new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Remus Lupin.

Of course, when he introduced Lupin, Snape's face was terribly gloomy.

But... faced with someone like Lupin, one of Dumbledore's own people, he understood that he had no way to compete with him at all...

And when he thought about how he would have to brew Wolfsbane Potion for him every month from now on, his mood sank to rock bottom.

However...

when Snape thought of Little Lily, the gloom on his face gained a few traces of light...

After introducing the new professor, Dumbledore did not waste many words and directly announced that it was time to eat.

When Black saw the table full of food, he immediately joined the army of people digging in.

For some reason, he was especially hungry tonight!
