"The Patronus Charm," Lupin said. "Only once you've learned the Patronus Charm will you no longer fear those Dementors when facing them."

Harry had fainted that night and hadn't seen Black cast the Patronus Charm, so he was rather confused.
"Yes, Harry, the Patronus Charm. But I'm not sure whether you'll be able to learn it, because it's quite an advanced spell," Lupin said worriedly.
Ordinarily, it was still very difficult for a young wizard Harry's age to learn magic of such an advanced level.
Of course, exceptions like Black hardly counted as human.
