Background / History
New Krypton originated from He-El's effort to preserve Krypton's survivors after the destruction of Old Krypton. He-El recovered seven million Kryptonians, rejected the restrictions of the former Kryptonian order, and declared that a new civilization would be built around Ability users and expansion into the stars. The survivors initially lived aboard Zero Star, a transforming cosmic mothership converted from a planetary base. 120 124 180
Following the war against the Green Lantern Corps and the Divine Legion, He-El secured legal recognition from the Guardians of the Universe and the Olympian gods for a territory on Earth. New Krypton landed in Australia, offered residents either citizenship or financial support to leave, and renamed the continent after itself. Resistance in several cities was violently suppressed, while civilians who did not resist were spared. 205 208 209
On September 6, He-El formally declared New Krypton's founding by raising its flag on Mount Kosciuszko. The ceremony introduced its planned academic institutions, magical system, mechanical development, and policy of accepting peoples from Earth and the wider universe. 211

Society and Citizenship
New Krypton publicly accepts people of any race who are willing to become citizens. It recruits scientific, military, administrative, magical, and superpowered talent, offering advanced education, biotechnology, medical treatment, and opportunities to serve beyond Earth. 205 209 238
- Citizens receive extensive welfare provisions, including healthcare, housing, education, social security, elderly care, and assistance programs. 1715
- Genetic technology can cure severe illnesses and physical disabilities; citizens who earn sufficient merit may receive genetic serums granting abilities such as flight, enhanced durability, Heat Vision, and elemental control. 1713 1714
- New Krypton offers longevity treatments capable of extending lifespans by several times, with some early citizens receiving lifespans of several centuries. 209 1151
- Every citizen possesses a Proton ID Card: a proton-sized terminal used for identity records, health monitoring, retinal displays, thought-controlled network access, recording, and emergency communication. 1550 1725
- Prisoners of war may be enslaved, but can earn citizenship through a merit system; New Krypton otherwise claims not to maintain slaves. 1168
Social Control
- Property and land on the New Krypton Continent were nationalized after the empire's establishment. 1725
- The state enforces worship of the Emperor as its sole faith. 1725
- Approximately 340,000 protesting residents were stripped of citizenship and expelled from the New Krypton Continent. 1725

Infrastructure and Technology
- Space Bridge network — Enables interstellar deployment, planetary transport, and rapid military mobilization; one documented bridge stretched 721,350.36 kilometers. 1189
- Photon detection particles — Map planets, asteroid fields, and star systems at faster-than-light speed before Space Bridge expeditions conduct detailed inspections. 1218
- Proton Dyson Sphere — Built around the Sun to capture stellar energy; its initial reported completion was 0.35%. 171
- Molecular construction — Floating assistant robots can dismantle buildings at the molecular level and rebuild entire residential districts within hours. 1725
- Planetary logistics — New Krypton produces solar grenades, solar-energy replenishment fluid, radiation-shielding combat suits, and other large-scale military supplies. 171
- Cosmic highways — The Zeroers of the Three-Body Problem universe agreed to mass-produce intergalactic gates and highways through dual-layer dark space. 1210
Crisis Planning
He-El prepared a fallback plan in case New Krypton faced threats beyond its ability to withstand. Because individual Space Bridge devices could not be supplied to every citizen, evacuation would prioritize the original New Kryptonians who joined before the war against the Oa Pan-Stellar Domain Alliance. 1302
| Evacuation Priority | Group |
|---|---|
| First | Core New Kryptonians from before the war with the Oa Pan-Stellar Domain Alliance |
| Second | Leading scientists from civilizations integrated into New Krypton |
| Third | Guardians of the Universe and stellar-level powerhouses |
| Fourth | Recently conquered civilizations using collective planetary Space Bridges |
Major Conflicts
- War against the Green Lantern Corps and Divine Legion — New Krypton suffered more than one million casualties during an early space war, but He-El's return reversed the battle's outcome. 190 191
- Oa Pan-Stellar Domain Alliance War — New Krypton spent a century defending Earth against a coalition containing more than two hundred stellar-level powerhouses. 1151
- Third Cosmic War — New Krypton defeated the alliance, accepted the submission of stellar-level powers and Guardians, and began universal occupation. 1210 1217
- Parallel-universe fusion crises — Repeated cosmic fusions introduced alternate populations, rival gods, hostile Lanterns, and competing stellar-level factions into New Krypton's territory. 1559 1560
- New Krypton Empire Civil War — Rumors that He-El had abandoned the empire, combined with the apparent loss of Zero's coordinating clone, triggered rebellion by forty-five stellar-level factions. 1730
