Were there Carbon-Based Lifeforms in the world that could directly devour vast quantities of metallic elements?
Apparently, there were none on Earth in the twenty-second century.
But similar accounts could be found in myths and legends.
Meng Chao remembered seeing several Earth classics preserved in the Dragon City Library during the "Earth Open Day" events organized by Blue Homeland.
They recorded the traits of the Chiyou Clan in ancient times.
It was said that the Chiyou Clan had "beast bodies and human speech, bronze heads and iron foreheads, feeding on sand and stones."
It was also said that Chiyou himself "ate iron and stone, had a human body and ox hooves, four eyes and six arms, ears and sideburns like swords and halberds, and horns upon his head."
These descriptions fit the characteristics of the Turan People extremely well.
Directly devouring iron ore and gravel, then growing metal heads and limbs, was obviously too exaggerated.
Devouring Mandala Fruit rich in metallic components, storing Liquid Metal within their bodies, and triggering it during battle—that sounded far more reasonable.
Although the legends of the Chiyou Clan were filled with bizarre, fantastical, and absurd elements.
If Earthlings truly were not an indigenous Carbon-Based Intelligent Race of Earth, if they had not evolved naturally but instead originated from the "Ancients" and the "Mother Body" of the Otherworld.
Or at least, if Earth species had been interfered with by the "Ancients" and the "Mother Body," becoming entirely new species.
Then perhaps the Chiyou Clan had truly existed?
And perhaps they had ties as numerous and tangled as silken threads with the Turan Civilization of the Otherworld?
This was not some sudden whim that had struck Meng Chao out of the blue.
He had been pondering this question for a long time.
As fragments of memories
