The New Prime Minister

Prime Minister Asquith and Lloyd George stared each other down, neither willing to compromise or yield. The matter could not be discussed any further.

Prime Minister Asquith was determined to resign as Prime Minister, unwilling to bear responsibility for Britain's decline. Lloyd George was even less willing to carry this black pot. Thus, the conflict could not be resolved.

"Prime Minister, how about we find another successor for the position? That way, you can resign as Prime Minister, and I will not have to succeed you," Lloyd George said.
