"Your Excellency the Secretary of State, the British Empire will not surrender to the Germans. We will keep fighting to the end. Even if the British mainland is entirely occupied by the Germans, we will not abandon resistance," Sir Edward Gray said.

Secretary of State Bryan immediately frowned. He understood Sir Edward Gray's underlying meaning: even if the British mainland fell, they would not give up hope and would keep fighting.

"Sir, what do you mean?" Bryan asked.

"Your Excellency the Secretary of State, if the British mainland falls, we plan to withdraw to Canada and continue resisting the Germans!" Sir Edward Gray said directly.

"What? Your government is going to relocate to Canada?" Bryan cried out. Clearly, he had never expected the British to possess such determination. Moreover, this was hardly good news for the United States.

"Yes, Your Excellency. We will continue resisting to the end," Sir Edward Gray said.

"But if that happens, the flames of war will spread to the Americas." Bryan's expression turned grave.

"Once the Germans occupy the British Empire's mainland, they likely will not have much strength left to attack Canada. Therefore, we should be safe," Sir Edward Gray said.

"Once the Germans digest their occupied territories, they will certainly attack Canada. Of course, that may take several years, or perhaps even longer. But no one can stop the Germans from launching an attack on Canada! When that time comes, the flames of war will burn across the American continent," Bryan said.

"Your Excellency, when that time comes, we will fight the Germans with all our lives."

"Hmph! Can you stop the Germans? Canada has only a few million people and can at most arm an army of several hundred thousand. The Germans could crush you with ease."
