Devastating Casualties

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

One large-caliber naval shell after another, driven by tremendous kinetic energy, slammed into Shizuoka. Earth-shaking explosions rang out across the city. The formidable power of the large-caliber shells was displayed to the fullest.

Because they were attacking a city, the German Expeditionary Fleet had specifically replenished its stocks with a batch of High-Explosive Shells during the previous night's resupply. The Island Nation's houses were all wooden, allowing the High-Explosive Shells to achieve their greatest effect.

A 380mm Shell struck a courtyard. The shockwave spread outward, instantly razing the entire courtyard to the ground. The people living within it were wiped out to the last man.

The Island Nation people within Shizuoka fled in all directions, desperate to escape. But how could human legs possibly outrun shells?

Countless Island Nation people crammed along the narrow streets, pushing toward the outskirts. A shell fell from the sky. After it exploded, a large area had been cleared away. Yet even reporting to Tokyo clearly could not change Shizuoka's fate. By the time Tokyo's aid arrived, Shizuoka would likely have long since become a field of ruins. Besides, Tokyo might not even have the nerve to come to their rescue.
