She had clearly been fine yesterday, so why had she suddenly changed her mind?

Xia Jingui frowned in confusion when she suddenly heard a clatter beside her. She instinctively turned her head, only to come face-to-face with a dagger gleaming with cold light.

"Ah~!"

Xia Jingui cried out in alarm, her back slamming into the carriage wall with a bang.

Princess of Beijing glanced coldly at her, then silently took out a handkerchief and wiped the dagger over and over.

Princess of Beijing replied flatly. She carefully tucked the dagger into her sleeve pouch, then waved her sleeve a few times to make certain nothing was amiss before continuing, "Otherwise, today either he dies or I do."

Just yesterday, he had been planning to humiliate her again. Yet now, without even informing her, he had directly convened court to hear the case—no matter how one looked at it, that was no good sign.

"Sister, you..."

Xia Jingui still wanted to persuade her, but Princess of Beijing had already closed her eyes, looking as if she did not wish to hear another word.

Xia Jingui's hands, hidden in her sleeves, clutched the Gold Velvet Carpet beneath her so tightly that she barely managed to suppress her outburst.
