Second Update
While Sun Shaozong was visiting the Ministry of Revenue, a young woman was also hurrying toward the Prince of Beijing's Estate, muttering about him all the way.
More precisely, cursing him all the way.
For the young woman preoccupied with him was Xia Jingui, whom his unconventional actions had pushed into a difficult position some days ago.
After parting ways with Princess of Beijing outside Dali Temple that day, Xia Jingui had feared that Princess of Beijing would question her, so she had not dared visit for several days.
She had only rushed to the estate this time because Wei Ying had taken the initiative to send someone for her, leaving her no room to retreat.
"It was all Sun Shaozong's fault!"
The more Xia Jingui thought about it, the angrier she became, yet she had nowhere to vent her rage.
Though she held something over Sun Shaozong, it was the kind of leverage that would harm both sides. Unless things reached the point of mutual destruction, how could she dare reveal it so lightly?
Not only that, to maintain her "affection" with Sun Shaozong, she might even have to force a smile in front of him and swallow her humiliation whole.
"Damn men!"
Thinking of this, Xia Jingui grabbed the Purple Clay Teapot beside her and hurled it onto the carriage cushion. Seeing that it remained completely intact, she snatched it up again and, without caring whether there were pedestrians outside the carriage window, flung it out.
Crack!
The crisp sound of shattering came right on cue. Only then did some of Xia Jingui's anger ease, though she was immediately swallowed by endless unease.
Why had Wei Ying summoned her this time?
Was she going to call her to account?
How was she supposed to make excuses
